Second-Half Surge Leads to Michigan to Beach Division Semifinal Win
The University of Michigan men’s basketball team used a strong second half to pull away from Virginia Tech, defeating the Hokies 75-63 on Monday (Nov. 25) in the opening round of Beach Division play at the Fort Myers Tip-Off.
Roddy Gayle Jr. led all scorers, scoring 20 points on 6-for-13 shooting while adding four rebounds and four assists. Will Tschetter also scored in double figures, adding 10 points.
Michigan will take on Xavier in the championship matchup of the Beach Division at the Fort Myers Tip-Off on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on FS1.
Balanced Xaver Offense Leads Musketeers to Beach Division Title Game
Five Musketeers reached double figures on Monday evening as No. 22 Xavier took a 75-66 win over South Carolina in the opening game of the Fort Myers Tip-Off.
The Musketeers improved to 6-0, while South Carolina moved to 3-3 on the season.
Xavier will face Michigan in the Fort Myers Tip-Off Beach Division Championship game on Wednesday, November 27 at 8:30 p.m. on FS1. South Carolina will face Virginia Tech in the third-place game at 6 p.m.
